Sun, sand and the beauty
of nature… These are just some
of the wealth of attractions that
await the tourist in Natal and Pipa.
NATAL
As well as its beautiful beaches,
the city of Natal is home to some
important historical sites, such as
the Reis Magos (Three Kings) Fort,
around which the city originally grew,
and cultural attractions, such as
the Câmara Cascudo Museum, devoted
to the renowned Brazilian scholar,
Luís Câmara Cascudo.
Natal’s facilities include shopping
malls, banks, fine hotels and restaurants,
an international airport and safe
streets. The city has recently received
the title of the City with the Cleanest
Air in all the Americas, following
a study carried out by the National
Institute for Space Research, at the
request of the North American Space
Agency (NASA). Natal is also proud
of the quality of its water, part
of which is filtered by the sand dunes.
PIPA
The internationally acclaimed
beauty of Pipa is derived from a landscape
comprising Dolphin Bay, towering cliffs
and the beautiful people who visit
the beach.
The name of the beach comes from a
rock, which to the seafarers of days
gone by, resembled a pipa—a
type of tankard used for drinking
alcoholic beverages.
Located in the largest ecological
sanctuary in the State of Rio Grande
do Norte, and selected by the travel
magazine Guia 4 Rodas as one of Brazil’s
ten most beautiful beaches, Pipa became
famous in the 1980s among surfers.
Nowadays, it also has a lively cosmopolitan
atmosphere, and, according to Viaje
magazine, has the “hottest nightlife
north of Recife”.
