In Pernambuco, the climate is tropical and humid on the coast, becoming hotter and dryer inland. The average temperature in most of the State varies from 26ºC to 31ºC. In the coastal lowlands and nearby highlands (Zona da Mata and Agreste), the rainy season occurs between April and August, whilst further inland on the semi-arid plateaus of the Sertão, the rainfall is highest between November and March.
